7/12/10 - "I am a recreational runner and do not race..I run for a cause. This was by far the best run for a cause I have ever done! It was so organized and well orchestrated from the trail maintenance, to the food, the registration tables, and the health fair and all the smiling volunteers that scooted around in orange shirts taking care of every last detail. I have to say that everyone involved, from the lead team, to the volunteers, to the runners (young and old) and to the spectators and supportive families, wore a smile and just beamed with positive energy!! I ran each mile inspired by one person in my life who either fell victim to cancer, or who is battle cancer and cannot run right now. It was their strength that carried me across each mile and made me push myself up that last little (!) hill! I was so inspired by all those around me and the incredible outpouring of support and enthusiasm from the greater community and beyond! I walked home with energy in my step and wholeness in my heart! Thank you, Lap4Life!" - Karen M., Newburgh, NY |

I hope you know just how "giving" this event was, not only for your family, but for many others. It was inspiring." - Brenda S., Cornwall, NY |

7/4/09 - "I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did to make lap 4 life possible. Thank you just isn't enough really, but it's a start. I can only imagine how much work went into it, because the event turned out so awesome! I was truly in awe of your family and friends, and how much you all care about your brother is truly inspiring. Your brother is a hero as well, but anyone who is sick like us will tell you that the people who are brave enough to stand by your side during the fight are just as courageous, if not more, than the one who is battling the sickness. Its not easy to watch the one you love go through such awful things and it really is easy to sit back and complain about how unfair it all is or get angry that this is happening to you. ( I know this both as a desmoid haver as well as one who had to watch her father suffer through his. I can handle my rough days, but I really felt so helpless watching him get sick and not being able to make him better). But you didnt do that and went beyond not just sitting there to doing something proactive. Everyone that came to the event made a huge difference in the life of someone with a desmoid. Of all the people there, your family and mine know how little is know about this terrible type of tumor, and how much the money raised will really help people like your brother and myself. It just goes to show that when you put your mind to something, anything is possible. People like you and all of the people who came to event make me smile on the difficult days because I realize that there is a lot of people supporting us and willing to help. You had a goal of 10 thousand, but to get over 30 thousand? Are you serious??? That is just beyond words!!!! You are all angels in my book!!! I can't wait for the 2nd Annual Lap 4 Life at Chadwick Lake!" - Jean C., Fishkill, NY |
